Testimony from Brooke Lincoln

“Our (Asbury Women’s Soccer) trip to NY to serve with 12thRock was a great experience.  12thRock did a brilliant job in getting everything set up prior to our arrival so that all we had to do was show up. Although I had been on many mission trips, this was my first mission trip to lead and 12thRock made it very easy to manage for me. They did everything they could to keep the price low so that each of my players could afford to take the trip. We planned a 10 day trip for $580 each. That included a weekend spent in New York City. The organization was able to schedule everything our group wanted to do from camps, to serving at night, to sightseeing.  12thRock allowed my players to minister to 150+ children each day in two different communities through the sport of soccer. My players came home different due to their first hand experiences serving with 12th Rock. For some of the girls this was their first time to take a mission trip and they were able to experience God in a totally different way. For others, they saw how important serving and sharing their story was. This trip brought my team closer together than any other pre-season activity. I would do it again in a heartbeat and encourage other groups to go as well. ” Brooke Lincoln, Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Asbury University, Wilmore, KY

Testimony from Blake Moore

“Working with 12th Rock was one of the most structured and rewarding mission trips we have taken in recent history. Greg was easy to work with and set up all the accommodations. The trip was well organized and Greg answered any questions or concerns we might have had months in advance of our trip. Coming from Alabama the trip was reasonably priced and 12th Rock made it even more affordable by providing transportation during our stay.

12th Rock provided two opportunities a day to minister to children. In the mornings with a kids camp (vbs) and in the evenings with a basketball camp. 12th Rock made sure we were well equipped in each setting. Spiritually it gave my team a chance to break out of their comfort zones and share the Gospel to the children we came in contact with. 12thRock did a great job of making the basketball camps family oriented. While our team presented the Gospel to the children, Greg and the 12th Rock team presented the Gospel to the parents!

My whole team has continued to talk about how great partnering with 12th Rock was, months after we returned. Greg, Mark, and the whole 12th Rock team went over and beyond to make us feel at home during our time with them. When it comes to sports and presenting the Gospel, nobody does it better than 12th Rock! I definitely would recommend partnering up with 12th Rock Ministries for your next mission trip!” Blake Moore, Family Life Center Director at First United Methodist Church, Enterprise, AL

Do you want to reach the world for Christ? …How about your community? Do you believe God can meet people right where they are?…even on a basketball court, a soccer field, or at a camp? Do you believe the body of Christ could do more to share the love of Jesus if we all work together? We do! This is where ONE mission camps come into play. Our goal is to unite the local church body with mission teams to impact their community using a week-long day camp. Using a combination of sports, music, arts and crafts, and fun activities, we take our teams into local communities and run a week-long action packed camp with the goal of sharing the love of Jesus with the families involved. It has been a great way to connect churches with families in their communities.

Intersect is a one-day event at a church or recreation center where we invite students of all ages and families to come and enjoy a day full of fun activities, free food, and most importantly to hear the Gospel of Christ presented in a clear and concise way. Along with the importance of presenting the Gospel, we want to help people, whether from your church, or the community, connect with Word of Life. We want them to see what we are about and that we care deeply not only about sharing the Gospel but also about having a good time. All day we will run activities for all age groups, provide a free lunch and we do this because we believe it helps to break down barriers so that when the Gospel is presented, it goes forth unimpeded.

Where: Newburgh Area
When: April 27

We want to partner with you so that together we put on the best possible event and make it a weekend of connection. Whether it’s through our training/setup time Friday night, working the event on Saturday, or participating in a local church on Sunday, our staff and students want to come along side your volunteer staff not only to help run the event but to also make a connection with them. Our goal is that you, your church, and the other churches involved would come to love Word of Life and partner with us in the future, not because of who we are, but because of who we represent, Christ.

Word of Life will provide:

• Event Staff- Event Director, Activities Director, a Food Service Director, and a Volunteer

Staff Director. Also a team of Bible Institute students to help and rub shoulders with your volunteers.

• Large Outdoor Grill, Sound System

IntersectOur mission is simple, “Reaching youth with the Gospel of Christ.” At Word of Life, camps have been an integral part of our ministry for 65 years. Camps are known for being far from civilization and that is why we have developed a brand new event at Word of Life, called Intersect. Intersects purpose is to bridge the gap between our remote camp properties and the fast-paced, busy life found in an urban setting, or as we like to say, “connecting camp to the city.”

Reverse is a high flying trampoline stunt and dunk team made up of Word of Life Bible Institute students. These young men use their skills to perform some amazing tricks and dunks while jumping off of a trampoline. We take this team into public schools and present an anti-bullying assembly to the students using a combination of speaking, trampoline stunts, and crowd involvement. Our athletes throw alley-oops, jump over students and teachers, and perform some crazy dunks as they deliver this amazing assembly to the students and faculty. Reverse also performs at Intersect and other church events.

What a great success!!
Over $5,800 was raised in 3 months for the
“Dirty Water Project”
This is how it worked:
  1. People took a bottle fill with green tea, made to look like dirty water, and drank the tea in the bottle.
  2. They put any money that they would have spent on coffee, soda, tea, or any other drink in the bottle(s) during the few weeks after they picked up the bottle.
  3. After a few weeks, they brought the bottle(s) back to the place where they picked it up.
  4. Watch the video to see the lives that will be touched by the project:
