Who is the next Michael or Chris?

Parenting is not for the faint of heart. Parents want what is best for their child. Each child needs to understand WHO they are and WHOSE they are. Smart parents admit they don’t have all the answers and seek outside help.  As financial supporters, you come directly alongside these families. In 2018, your faithful giving has allowed 12th Rock to work with over 2,000 kids and their families. Chris and Michael are two young men who have been impacted by your financial support.  Check out how our current monthly financial supporters have helped change their lives!

Our last basketball season came to an exciting end as we commissioned sixteen seniors involved in the program. Many of these young men had been involved in our program since they were in kindergarten.  During the ceremony, Mark used the first chapter of Joshua to challenge them to be prepared for the challenges life is going to bring them after high school.  To ultimately move forward in God's strength and courage, they were urged to remember what they have seen God do and what they have learned. The ceremony was used to celebrate, honor, and commission each of these young men.  Our coaches presented each mother with flowers. Sixteen seniors were given a Bible with their name embossed on it. The response from the families, and their sons, was extremely positive. Michael knows WHO he is and WHOSE he is, thanks to your consistent support.

“The 12th Rock family has encouraged Michael through the years. Seeing the same faces year after year and receiving the positive messages kept Michael focused through the years. The personal connection to the coaches and being around positive role models throughout his years helped shape him into the young man he is today.”     Karen

12th Rock’s archery programs continue to be a great outlet for kids that might not be into team ball sports. This summer, after finding our programs through an internet search, Chris’ mother signed him up for the summer archery camp.

"When looking for a summer program for my son Christopher, I found 12th Rock. I was impressed with the focus of both safety and skill. Mark was very patient teaching every camper the components of the bow and arrow, the correct shooting technique, the importance of correct arrow nocking, range safety, the correct way to remove arrows, and range commands. Archery gave my child the outlet he needed without a team sport where he was judged on his skill level. Archery gave him a sense of pride and accomplishment. He looks forward to participating in the camp again."     Annmarie

Chris not only received great archery instruction, he was able to hear how to begin a relationship with Jesus that week. Chris left archery camp with a Bible in hand, and the seed has been planted in his life.  Chris’ journey is just beginning, and you are a huge part of it.

Fall is upon us. We are running archery and basketball programs, as well as many different events. The winter basketball season will be here before we know it, and we are excited for the opportunity to continue to see many more stories like these because of your giving!

Who is the next Michael or Chris? What can you do to help tell the next story?

At 12th Rock, we are grateful for your generous giving to the Northeastern field. God has been at work in major ways as the project moves forward. Without your financial gifts, the project would not be where it is today.

What More Can You Do to Help?  It’s simple…become a monthly financial supporter!

The full-time ministry of 12th Rock, that we have been called to, continues to grow. Along with growth comes significant monthly financial needs.  Unfortunately, those financial needs are not being met. Currently, we are short $6,000 each month on the funds needed for our daily operational expenses. Would you prayerfully consider becoming a monthly financial supporter? Is God calling you commit to give $25, $50, $100, $250 or more each month? Are you willing to let God stretch you, financially, to help families here in the Hudson Valley?

The bottom line is that 12th Rock needs you, as well as those around you (so tell your friends), to join us by financially supporting the mission God has called us to here in the Hudson Valley...   to engage in helping families in need, mentor youth and unite a community through sports.

Consistent financial support is critical to do what God has called us to do here in the Northeast. We can’t even begin to express our gratitude for your investment in this work. Help 12th Rock continue to change lives by committing to monthly financially support by following the instructions listed HERE
