This year’s theme for all of our programs is BELIEVE IT. Each week we share a Biblical truth with the program participants, and we would like to share it with you…

Where did I come from? From Genesis 1:27 | God created you in His likeness. You are not a mistake; every detail has been crafted by His skilled hands.

I WAS CREATED BY GOD!

February 23rd was a big day for us!

The 12th Rock Tournament was the culmination of our 18th basketball season, which included the 2nd Annual Senior Day. Senior Day recognizes the seniors in the program, and their parents, in a special ceremony to kick off the tournament. Thanks to The Church at Ridgebury, each senior was presented a study Bible with their name engraved on the front cover. The mother of each senior was also presented with a beautiful flower.

Greg challenged the crowd of 300-400 people to “draw the line, before the time.” The overall message was to know what you believe and make the decision to stick to those convictions before you are in a sticky situation.

Following the senior ceremony, the tournament began with a Senior All-Star game. Starting with pool play for all the divisions, the teams competed for the coveted 12th Rock Championship T-Shirts. All the teams played hard, but Alabama (4-5th), North Carolina (6-7th), Texas A&M (8-9th) and Providence (10-12th) prevailed as champions. The K-3rd grade divisions played their last game on the biggest court of their career, and received their season-end awards. The girls (4-8th) enjoyed a close game, followed by a special closing ceremony that included a testimony from Coach Angela Brouty and tasty refreshments. Lastly, the crowd enjoyed watching their coaches compete in the 18th annual coaches’ game. A few seniors stepped up to coach the teams, which was a special moment indeed. What a joy to serve alongside these coaches each year.

February 23rd was the final day of the winter archery program as well.

Our amazing team of instructors hosted 8 registered archers, as well as 4 kids from Ali Adaptive Sports. This is the second year 12th Rock has hosted the kids from Ali Adaptive Sports. It is always a joy to see the kids’ faces light up as they hit the targets. Over the course of the seven weeks the archers learned what it means to truly BELIEVE in God and all that encompasses. 12th Rock is extremely grateful to Grace Community-Warwick for the use of their gym for this program. The highlight of the day was the coffee mug that was given to Mike, one our dedicated instructors. This is what it all about. Impacting one child at a time with the love of Jesus, because He has first loved us.

Last week we met with LAN Associates in Goshen, NY to review the first draft of the schematic design for the sports complex. We are excited to see continued progress on this God-sized vision. Find out how you can get involved or to stay up to date on the latest information HERE.
